Our Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) qualified instructor, will show you how to build a shelter, create fire, track and much more as you learn to stay alive in the outdoors! Bushcraft activities are suitable from the age of 7 years.

For Families

Bushcraft Basics

A great introduction to bushcraft, survival and the priorities!  Our fully instructed activity package, gives groups of 6 or more the chance to learn the basics about shelter, fire, water and tracking.  The day is full of activities and games and is a brilliant opportunity for family to spend time together.  So pull on your boots gather your family and get ready for a great day full of fresh air.

Duration: Full days (10-4pm)

Have some family fun.

We can come and deliver basic bushcraft to your family unit in your garden.  All the family can participate, Mum, Dad and siblings. A great bonding experience and a chance to learn survival skills together as a family. We can instruct from 2 metres away. Any equipment will be sanitised before and after the session.

*Special offer price: £99, for a 90-minute bushcraft session for a family unit living within 20 miles of Bromyard (travel costs added, if we are required to travel further afield).

Are you looking for a fun activity, an icebreaker so people can get to know each other or a way to entertain friends?  Whether you’re scouts, brownies, guides, a club or a football team, our fully instructed activity package gives groups of 6 or more the chance to experience bushcraft. Pull on your boots, gather your friends and get ready for a great day full of fresh air. Using traditional bushcraft skills, children and adults can try their hand at activities such as shelter building, matchless fire lighting, campfire cooking, stealth games and woodcraft.

Duration: Full days (10-4pm)

For Schools

Survival squad

Fun filled sessions where children can learn from our qualified instructor all about bushcraft and survival and learn answers to key questions like: Do I need a shelter? Where do I locate it? What can I make it from? What if I have no string? These sessions leave you with skills you can use forever.

You can select one of our bushcraft experiences: Survival Academy, Flint and Flame, Scenario SOS or Stone Age Adventure or design your own package of bushcraft activities.

Activities can include:

  • shelter building
  • fire lighting by friction
  • cooking on an open fire
  • plant identification and uses
  • cord making with natural fibres
  • finding and purifying water
  • map reading and using a compass
  • animal tracks and signs
  • identification of trees
  • looking at different habitats and ecosystems
  • exploring how our ancestors would have lived (compared to how people live now)

Feeling adventurous?

Have you ever wondered which of your colleagues, has what it takes to survive in the wilderness – our bushcraft activities are the way to find out. Imagine you’re lost in a woodland wilderness, miles away from civilization. With no radio contact, limited supplies and the sound of wild animals nearby – would you have the skills to survive until you were rescued? You must complete a series of survival challenges set by our instructor – build shelter, light a fire, signal to rescuers and navigate yourself to safety.

Important Information

 

  • Participants must be 7+ years
  • Children must be accompanied on the activity by a parent or guardian on a ratio of 1:6
  • All guests participating in an activity need to complete our activity waiver  (parents and guardians to complete on behalf of children) 
  • You should not take part if you are suffering from serious health issues – please seek advice
  • We recommend you wear warm outdoor clothing (that might get muddy and smell of smoke) and suitable footwear eg walking boots or wellies
  • All bookings must be pre-booked
  • Payment in full at the time of the booking
  • Mileage is charged for any bookings over 20 miles from our base.

Are you looking for a fun activity to entertain family and friends? Then our Introductory Family Archery Experiences are for you!

Our fully instructed activity package, gives groups of 6 or more the chance to experience archery. Your instructor will teach you the correct way to handle a bow and arrow before you step up to the firing line to test your aim. There’ll be plenty of time for fun games along the way. Perfect for beginners and novices alike!

Duration: 1 – 3 hours (depending on group size)
